In this week's Graceland podcast, Elvis Presley Enterprises Kevin Kern and Director of Graceland's Archives Angie Marchese team up to talk about the 45th anniversary of Elvis recording at the legendary American Sound Studio in Memphis. Fans can listen to the studio's founder/producer Chips Moman talk about what it was like inside the studio when Elvis recorded hits such as "Suspicious Minds" and "In The Ghetto." Moman also talks about the many musical greats who recorded in this studio and how they set the tone for Elvis' return to Memphis to record. Fans can also hear rare outtakes from Elvis recording session at the studio. A staple of Memphis music history, the studio was located on 827 Thomas Street. American Sound produced over 100 hit songs from artists such as Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Neil Diamond, Dusty Springfield, B.J. Thomas, The Box Tops and many other music legends. The American Sound Studio house band The Memphis Boys joined us for a sold out concert during Elvis Week 2012 and Elvis fans can now watch this performance by subscribing to our YouTube Channel.
